Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper hosts Service Dealer Council October 3-5
SAN ANTONIO (September 6, 2011) – Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance (Alliance), promoting the Auto Value and Bumper to Bumper brands, brought together its top notch owners and managers for the 2011 Service Dealer Advisory Council meeting. The Council met in Cleveland, Ohio, October 3 through 5. The 2.5 day meeting, hosted by LuK Manufacturing, included a tour of their facility in Wooster, Ohio.
The function of the Council is to review and set short and long-term plans and goals for the certified service center program. Current members are in various periods of their three year terms. They were initially nominated by Alliance shareholders based on who could best represent the entire membership's needs, help create the vision, and lead the direction of the group.
The main focus of the session was to provide members with a comprehensive overview of the Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper information technology initiatives from how they were developed to where they are heading. By gathering data from the council, it provided a better understanding of what these top service center owners want and need from a technology standpoint to grow their businesses and operate more profitably.
The second goal of the meeting was to obtain feedback on communication processes throughout the distribution channel. Current methods and the strengths and weaknesses were discussed. Potential new avenues that would better communicate and serve Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper service centers by providing an all-encompassing business and program resource center accessible 24/7/365 were talked about.
"Each of our council members is a businessman and is intimately aware of what it takes to be successful in their market. We ask them to take their expertise and apply it on a national level. Through the feedback they give, we've been able to position Auto Value and Bumper to Bumper above our competition and will look to build on that achievement," said Jon Owens, vice president of sales & market development for Alliance.
