Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper blazes into Phoenix for Driving the Desert
SAN ANTONIO (October 14, 2010) – Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper coordinated a unique event that consisted of nine manufacturers joining together for one common goal – offering a sweepstakes with a grand prize package of a high performance driving experience.
Over thirty participants from across North America were selected to win an expense paid trip to attend the Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Racing in Phoenix, AZ on October 8, 2010. The winners were accompanied by their respective manufacturer sales representative.
Garey Lange of Standard Motor Products said, “This is the second year we've partnered with other vendors on this type of program for Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper and it really is a lot of fun. Our customers got a once in a lifetime experience and sales reps got to know each other on a one-to-one basis away from day to day business pressures. It's an awesome opportunity for everyone and Standard is pleased to be a part of it.”
This unique endeavor included CARDONE, Dorman Products, Gates Corporation, Exide Technologies, East Penn Mfg., Federal-Mogul, Standard Motor Products, Tenneco, and Valvoline. Each vendor chose the sweepstakes parameters for their portion of the program. Each vendor held a random drawing based on their criteria including completion of on-line testing of products and/or automotive systems while others focused on reaching specific sales goals.
“When our vendors approached us for the second year in a row with the idea of joining together and building on the success of last year's program, once again throwing aside their competitive issues, we heartily agreed to create the Driving the Desert sweepstakes,” said Steve Marks, senior vice president sales and marketing for Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper. “Everyone benefitted from this promotion. Customers learned more about our manufacturer products, stores rang the registers from sales promotions, employees received great prizes and recognition for doing their job, and vendors were the heroes of the day making it all happen.”
The winners traveled from the United States, Canada, and Mexico to attend this driving experience. A highlight of the event was a one-on-one with founder Bob Bondurant.
